At the bottom of this page, you’ll find the latest stable firmware version for the EAGLE Eye, along with comprehensive release specifications.
The Kinefinity Eagle SDI e-Viewfinder is crafted to offer an array of advanced features and functionalities within a compact, affordable design.
At its core is a 0.7″ (1.3 cm) 1920 x 1080 Micro OLED panel, delivering stunning visuals with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. This panel supports 8-bit color depth and renders up to 16 million colors, while its internal processing operates at an impressive 10-bit depth for smoother gradations and enhanced detail.
Meticulous Color Calibration
Kinefinity ensures that every Eagle SDI e-Viewfinder is color-calibrated during production, eliminating the need for user adjustments under normal conditions. For specialized requirements, factory recalibration is available.
FPGA-Based Hybrid Processing
The EVF features an innovative FPGA-based hybrid processing architecture, which combines ultra-fast boot-up and responsiveness with low power consumption and virtually no delay. Its fanless design ensures silent operation, making it ideal for professional environments.
Zero-Delay Monitoring
The EVF’s zero-delay technology allows for real-time framing and accurate focusing, delivering a viewing experience comparable to optical viewfinders.
Lightweight, Durable Design
Constructed from durable aluminum, the EVF weighs only 348g (12.2 oz). Its new mounting system offers flexibility, with two options:
- A traditional ARRI Rosette bracket, compatible with most existing viewfinder mounts.
- Movcam’s compact quickplate bracket, which attaches directly to the EVF for added convenience.
With its blend of innovation, precision, and portability, the Eagle SDI e-Viewfinder is a reliable choice for filmmakers seeking cutting-edge performance in the field.
The EVF is equipped with four function buttons, a Menu button, a toggle button, and a function knob, all intuitively designed for seamless adjustments. These controls are thoughtfully positioned on the EVF for maximum ease of use, allowing users to quickly and efficiently access essential settings and features. This ergonomic arrangement enhances the overall user experience, ensuring smooth and efficient operation in any shooting scenario.

The EVF allows you to activate multiple assist tools simultaneously, enhancing its versatility during operation.
- Peaking: Choose between Color, Outline, or Mono, with customizable sensitivity and color options to suit your preferences.
- False Color: Offers consistent exposure evaluation, comparable to professional tools on cameras like the ARRI Amira.
- Image Zoom: Adjust zoom levels effortlessly using the scroll wheel. If the On-Screen Display (OSD) is active, activating Image Zoom will temporarily hide it, providing a clear view. The zoom resets to the center position when toggled off and back on.
The EVF’s False Color and Waveform Displays accurately reflect the signal received by the device. When a LUT is active, these tools will align with the adjusted image, rather than the LOG signal, ensuring a true preview of your footage.
Run/Stop Trigger Functionality
The Eagle SDI e-Viewfinder includes support for Run/Stop (R/S) recording trigger functionality, which can be activated via the RS port on the SDI e-Viewfinder cable. This feature is compatible with cameras featuring a Fischer RS port, including:
- ARRI models
- RED V-RAPTOR XL
- SONY VENICE
- Kinefinity cameras
For cameras without an RS port, such as the RED KOMODO or V-RAPTOR, recording can still be triggered using additional accessories like the Tilta RED KOMODO Camera Cage.
When recording is initiated using the EVF’s record button, a red tally light illuminates on both the front and top of the e-Viewfinder (if enabled in the menu), providing a clear recording status indicator.
