The Kinefinity to ARRI Color Match OFX transforms supported Kinefinity cameras into an ARRI colour pipeline, with your choice of ARRI Wide Gamut 3 / LogC3 or ARRI Wide Gamut 4 / LogC4.

Not an ARRI-inspired look. Not a LUT. A measured, mathematical camera transform.

The Kinefinity → ARRI Color Match OFX is developed from controlled camera measurements and mathematical data fitting, with the goal of matching the colourimetry and tonal behaviour of supported Kinefinity cameras as closely as possible to our ARRI reference.

Our previous Kinefinity → ARRI transforms already demonstrated how close these cameras can get. The new OFX takes a fundamentally different approach, delivering both substantially lower transformation distortion and a significantly more accurate colourimetric match.

Kinefinity to ARRI Color Match OFX for DaVinci Resolve — development pre-order

For DaVinci Resolve

This OFX plugin runs exclusively in DaVinci Resolve. A DaVinci Resolve licence is not included.

Supported Kinefinity cameras

The initial release will support:

Each camera receives its own dedicated mathematical characterisation based on controlled measurements. Read our Kinefinity VISTA guide for the camera’s recording modes and workflow.

Formula-based. Not LUT-based.

The new colour pipeline does not use a finite 3D LUT or colour table to perform the camera match. Instead, controlled camera measurements are used to fit a mathematical model describing the relationship between each Kinefinity camera and our ARRI reference.

The resulting transformation is evaluated mathematically for every pixel. A conventional 3D LUT approximates a continuous colour relationship using a finite grid, with intermediate values reconstructed through interpolation. Our new pipeline instead evaluates the fitted mathematical functions directly.

This enables very high precision with substantially lower interpolation and quantisation error than our previous LUT-based workflow.

More precision and greater colour accuracy

Lower transformation distortion is only half of the improvement. We have also redesigned the camera measurement and data-fitting process itself.

Our new laboratory tests characterise camera behaviour across exposure, allowing us to model:

  • Neutral response
  • Colourimetry
  • Saturation behaviour
  • Contrast
  • Tonal response
  • Exposure-dependent colour behaviour

The result is therefore improved in two independent ways: lower distortion in the mathematical transformation and greater colour accuracy relative to the ARRI reference.

The goal isn’t merely to make a ColorChecker look similar under one exposure condition. The goal is to characterise how the camera behaves.

Choose between ARRI AWG3 and AWG4

For every supported camera you can choose your target directly inside the OFX.

ARRI Wide Gamut 3 / LogC3

For the classic Alexa colour pipeline and existing AWG3 / LogC3 workflows.

ARRI Wide Gamut 4 / LogC4

For ARRI’s newer colour pipeline and integration into an ARRI Reveal workflow. The camera match is calculated specifically for the selected ARRI target.

Automatic working colour-space detection

The underlying mathematics are complex. Using the OFX shouldn’t be.

The plugin is designed to automatically detect the supported working colour space in DaVinci Resolve. Whether you are grading in DaVinci Wide Gamut / Intermediate, ACES, or another supported colour-managed workflow, you don’t have to manually configure the OFX for that working colour space.

Simply select:

  1. Your Kinefinity camera
  2. ARRI AWG3 / LogC3 or AWG4 / LogC4

The OFX handles the rest. This allows the camera match to integrate naturally into an ACES workflow, without requiring a chain of manual colour-space conversions simply to use the transform.

What the transform can and cannot do

A colour transform cannot manufacture sensor information that was never captured. It cannot give a Kinefinity sensor additional dynamic range, recover clipped highlights or literally turn the camera into an Alexa.

What it can do is transform the colour and tonal information that was captured towards the measured response of our ARRI reference with very high precision.

The goal is not to pretend the cameras are identical. The goal is to allow them to speak the same colour language.

One purchase. No subscription.

The Kinefinity → ARRI Color Match OFX is a one-time purchase. There is no annual subscription and no requirement to purchase separate camera packs.

The OFX includes an integrated download and update function, allowing new camera profiles and improvements to be downloaded as they become available. When Kinefinity introduces new cinema cameras, we intend to measure and characterise them and add supported models to the OFX.

Future supported Kinefinity camera profiles will be available to existing users at no additional cost. Your colour pipeline can therefore grow together with the Kinefinity camera system.

Development pre-order: €79

  • Pre-order closes: 1 November 2026
  • OFX release: 14 November 2026
  • Regular price: €179

Until 1 November, the complete Kinefinity → ARRI Color Match OFX can be pre-ordered for €79. Save €100 on the final price.

The development pre-order helps fund the remaining camera measurements, mathematical modelling, software development, testing and validation. By supporting the project before release, you receive the finished OFX for €100 below the regular price, including future supported Kinefinity camera profiles.

Development guarantee

We want the development pre-order to be risk-free.

  • If the OFX isn’t finished by 14 November 2026, you receive a full refund.
  • If the finished OFX doesn’t do what we promise, you receive a full refund.

The €79 development pre-order closes on 1 November 2026. The OFX launches on 14 November 2026 for €179.

Follow the development

Before release we will publish direct Kinefinity / ARRI comparisons, exposure tests, measurements and scopes. We want the quality of the transform to be judged on the actual images and measurements.
